ROLE: PROJECT ENGINEER (Building & Civil Engineering (B&CE))

LOCATION: RAF, Gloucestershire

DURATION: 6+ Months Initially with possible extension

NOTE: ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Requirement for the individuals to be B&CE Trained and desirable to be Authorised Persons trained in either Confined Spaces or Working at Heights iaw MOD Health & Safety procedures JSP375.
- Role is basically a need of Technical Officer Building & Civil Engineering (B&CE)
- Provides Execution Of Facility And Infrastructure Maintenance, Repairs And Minor New Works At RAF Fairford & Welford on behalf of USVF.

DUTIES

- Plan, compile detailed specifications, estimate and prepare electronic draft works orders or contractual documents as appropriate for maintenance, repair or new work approved client requests.
- Designated officer financial and managerial duties as sub-delegated from mod accounting officers in accordance with jsp462 and usf code sections 1.1, 5.9 & 6.1.
- Carryout regular live checks on work in progress to ensure requirements of contract, accountability and probity are being followed.
- Enter details of contract work in computer database. Track, monitor and update work status to ensure customer expectations and agreed completion dates are being met.
- Attend, arrange and or chair contract pre-construction, progress or handover meetings as may be directed.
- Clearance Level Required: SC is a must. Please ensure the candidate has a current SC. Please ensure the MoD cover sheet is filled out correctly.
- Additional Info: USVF = United States Visiting Forces. Role involves taking client request, turning that into contracted works. Overseeing works. Involves some maintenance works. Candidate must be able to interact with stakeholders and colleagues and be prepared to pick up work where needed.
