About the Department
The Technical Support team provides quality service to customers who have questions about the operation of their software. They are able to use their knowledge databases to answer many questions directly. Where specialist expertise is required they involve their Consulting department, virtual teams of international experts, or the organisations headquarters in the USA. As a partner of the company's customers you will have to deal with managers, but also with specialists and end users of their software. This requires a flexible, communicative, and customer-oriented attitude.

The function
The Company is looking for an experienced SAS Technical Support Consultant to join their Consulting Dutch department.

The SAS Technical Consultant is the bridge between customer IT organization and the company's software. You will look into customer objectives, customer organization, know requirements and wish to translate into a successful software configuration. The Technical Support Consultant advises the customer proactively and believes in their experience to persuade the conditions for the successful use of the software protection. You will work with a group inquisitive professionals.

You will work closely with customers, colleagues from Consultancy and Technical Administration for optimal customer satisfaction.

The SAS Technical Support Consultant's duties and responsibilities:

* Provides technical support to customers (internal and external) via phone and email for the company's products on all common operating systems, for all platform-related or technology-related problems within the environment of the customer.
* Providing support consists of defining problems, troubleshooting, repairs and debugging of complex computer systems and/or software.
* Deepens in and investigates customer inquiries and reported problems. Informs the client about status and provides a solution.
* Test software fixes and documentation checks on technical correctness, completeness, consistency (also from a consumer perspective).
* Training and/or consulting applications.
* Is proactive in processing and documenting the problems, keep the status and provides temporary or permanent solutions.
* Reports to the company's internal Software Development of design, reliability, common bugs and problems.
* Remain informed of the (competing) products and systems from other vendors; liaise with other suppliers to report problems and to gather information about the compatibility with the company's products. Advises users on optimal use of their products in combination with systems and products from other vendors.

The SAS Technical Support Consultant's Skills/Experience:

* Training at college or university level;
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position at a service;
* Healthy business acumen, analytical skills and solution-oriented;
* Customer focus, creativity and persuasiveness;
* Experience with different OS environments;
* Terms such as Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, ETL, SQL, OLAP, JAVA and HTML are not unknown;
* Knowledge of one or more SAS solutions is a plus;
* Communicative skills with a thorough knowledge of Dutch and English;.
