SAS Programmer - Contract To Hire

SAS Programmer, San Diego CA, Contract or Permanent

A SAS Programmer is required for a long term project either on a Contract or Permanent position working in San Diego, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Serve as Sub-team Member or Lead on the project level to plan, organize, delegate, and manage a team from start to finish by overseeing all development, validation, and production of programs on a project
* Manage CRO programming activities for complex studies
* Manage project timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables by interfacing with all levels of management to negotiate resources, project priorities and scopes
* Provide expert review of process and methodology development work at the highest level with regard to standards and validation procedures
* Lead committees or task forces to develop complex, technical solutions for business needs
* Provide software and programming solutions across projects and/or technologies to meet business needs
* Provide work direction and assign tasks to lower-level programming analysts
* Independently bring technical solutions to the internal and external project teams

QUALIFICATIONS:
* BS degree in statistics, computer science, or related field is required. Advanced Degree preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
* Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in a project leadership role is required.
* Expert knowledge of SAS/clinical trials is required.
* Combination of in house and CRO experience preferred.
* Knowledge of other software such as S-plus and WinNonlin is preferred.
* Knowing the pertinent industry standards, such as the ICH guidelines, CDISC data structures, 21 CFR Part 11, and FDA guidelines, is required.
* Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
* Solid understanding of statistics and drug development process is required.
