SAS DELIVERY MANAGER - IFRS9 - CONTRACT - LONDON

IFRS 9 is the new accounting standard dealing with financial instruments accounting. The largest change proposed by IFRS 9 is the introduction of an expected loss impairment model. The IFRS 9 Programme, managed by Group Finance Change, was established to deal with these changes and enable HSBC to report under the new requirements from the effective date of 1 January 2018. The Retail Impairments workstream within the Programme is managed by RBWM Retail Risk Analytics team, and responsible for the delivery of Retail impairment models, data, systems and process. This includes the delivery of a Retail impairment calculator based on SAS, which will be jointly developed by Retail Risk Analytics team and IT team.

The role is required to manage the delivery of the SAS IFRS 9 Retail Impairment calculator, from detail design up to implementation of the calculator in Live environment. This will include managing the build of components of the SAS solution to be delivered by RRA, as well as overall delivery management of the components of the SAS solution to be delivered by other teams (including infrastructure provision, other components to be built by IT, data ingest/data load process, and coordination with test teams).

The role holder will be reporting to the IFRS 9 Retail project under HGHQ RBWM Retail Risk.

ROLE CONTEXT

The jobholder works as part of a small team of people in Group Retail Risk and has high level of flexibility to consult with Senior Management (especially with RBWM, Risk and Finance) at Group and Regional level. The jobholder will need to have the ability to work alongside and garner the support of management and staff at all levels and across Group, Regional and Specialist teams across the Group and dependent upon the focus of the initiative.

Experience

Numerous years experience in SAS delivery within large programmes.

Recognised numerate University Degree (or equivalent)

SAS certification (ideal or job experience to the equivalent)
