SAS Consultant

As a Technical Consultant, you will provide SAS consulting services, including solution development, deployment, and implementation.

Your responsibilities will also include:

* Developing and maintaining internal applications.
* Developing, testing, and implementing software applications for internal and external customers; taking direction from the technical lead or project manager as assigned.
* Reviewing and editing documentation for consulting projects, the Education Division and other divisions as needed.
* Providing reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, products and technologies.
* Assisting in scoping and defining work efforts, resource plans, and estimating cost on phases/projects.
* Participating in project requirements gathering.
* Preparing and presenting materials for site visits, project work, and training services.
* Contributing to service delivery effectiveness through the consistent application of Best Practices as specified by project plans.
* Providing input to project team to define scope and work effort for assigned tasks; and
* Other duties, as assigned.

You will ideally have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or quantitative field;
* 4 years of experience programming in a third or fourth generation language, preferably in technology areas such as application development, Client Server, database management systems, data warehousing, or web enablement.
* 3+ years of experience working in a SAS 9.x environment
* Experience with Oracle database
* Experience with UNIX/Linux operating system
* Developing knowledge of SAS products, peripheral technologies and implementation best practices.
* Developing problem solving, organizational, decision-making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
* Base SAS programming skills with working experience in a SAS 9.x environment
* Developing knowledge of the SAS9 Platform, implementation best practices, experience and knowledge with many of the following products or technologies:
-SAS 9.x EBI platform
-SAS Management Console
-Data Integration Studio

Web Report Studio
-Stored Processes
-Installation and Configuration
-SAS Enterprise Guide

* Developing knowledge of software or applications development life cycle
* UNIX Shell Scripting
* Ability to conceptualize clients' needs and translate into specific implementation strategies
* Ability to work as a part of team with general instructions on day-to-day work and with detailed instructions on new assignments.
* Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and technologies.
