MI SAS ANALYST - BANKING - SQL - LEEDS - £400

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Interpret complex processes and manage the efficient and effective production of high quality output and analysis, anticipating stakeholder needs. Deliver MI reporting and testing of data changes to support the MI delivery for portfolio projects.

Strong SQL skills are a key requirement for this role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Support the MI lead in managing and coordinating the completion of MI deliverables for assigned projects/workstreams to required standard including meeting all documentation standards.
- Feed into MI project plans, ensuring all MI tasks assigned are completed within agreed timelines
- Develop complex reports, tables and warehouse structures to satisfy business requirements including SAS OLAP cubes, stored processes & dashboarding.
- Input into Test Strategy and contribute to test Matrix, defect management where appropriate
- Complete testing tasks as assigned to validate data changes delivered by projects.
- Ensure data reconciliation and report accuracy and resolve where incorrect.
- Ability to analyse data and provide added value to business.
- Establish and build relationships with customers to identify business requirements and provide appropriate support and guidance.
- Raise any risks and issues to MI Project Manager and Finance Change Lead
- Feed into Business Readiness plan and contribute to training and communications where appropriate
- Shows innovation and is pro-active in approach.
- Takes ownership and accepts responsibility.
- Coach and mentor junior roles and contractors
- Is a strong team player, being aware of other team members, providing support where required.
- Ad hoc support as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

- Ability to manipulate complex data using current data processing software products.
- Ability to accurately disseminate complex business requests.
- Intermediate/advanced SQL & SAS 9+ programming skills ideally with experience in Oracle databases.
- Advanced problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Effective management of own time and prioritisation of own workload within a pressurised environment.

DESIRABLE:

- Knowledge of MI technical, infrastructure and warehouse concepts.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, MS Project.
- Enterprise Guide, VB, VBA & XML Skills

RATE: £400 per day

LOCATION: Leeds

DURATION: 3 months

START: January 2015
