SAS Administrator

Boss ERP are working exclusively with a London based client to find a SAS Systems Administrator for an initial 5 month contract.

Our client is currently in the middles of a large scale SAS implementation which will be used by their Data Analysts for their customer insight initiatives. As this is a new product to our client, there is no existing technology experience so installation and setup of software has been done by SAS themselves.

We need this contractor to take over responsibility of software installation, administration and all technical configuration. Note that the business themselves have responsibility for building the models within the application itself. THIS POSITION IS FOR A SAS SYTEMS ADMIN NOT A DEVELOPER.

At the end of June, they will re-evaluate the support model but the contractor is needed to see the tools go live in the next few months with this position expected to go on for an additional 5 months prior to this engagement.

•Secure a SAS platform configuration
•Checking the Status and Operation of SAS Servers
•Manage metadata repositories
•Identify the properties and functionality of SAS servers
•Configure a SAS Metadata server cluster
•Monitor SAS servers
•Administer SAS server logging and modify logging configurations
•Troubleshoot basic SAS server issues
•Monitor performance, disk activity, rogue processes, memory usage
•Back up the SAS environment
•Restore the SAS environment
•Administer Users
•Manage connection profiles.
•Manage roles
•Register users and groups in the metadata
•Give users access to processing servers and data servers
•Determine when to store passwords in the metadata
•Administer Data Access
•Base SAS v9.4 SAS Management Console, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS DI Studio, SAS/ACCESS, SAS DMA

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years SAS Systems Admin ideally with the SAS Systems Admin certification (although this is not essential).

Start date is asap - rate is market rates - although we are expecting to pay between £500 and £600 but will consider people looking for a higher rate.

Location - Central London - Interviews this week.
