SAP Systems Analyst

MY CLIENT A LEADING GLOBAL COMPANY BASED IN CORK HAS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR A SAP SYSTEMS ANALYST TO JOIN THEIR TEAM. THIS IS AN INITIAL 12 MONTH CONTRACT THAT IS LIKELY TO BE EXTENDED.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The Systems Analyst plans and directs analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems. They also develop, write, and edit computer-related technical and business documentation. The Systems Analyst must be a self-starter and self-sufficient requiring minimal supervision of day to day issue tracking & resolution. The ideal Systems Analyst will possess a unique blend of technical, business, and people skills. The person will provide business systems analysis and support for a multitude of applications used by Business Units and Administrative functions across the company. They play a key role as subject matter expert and technical consultant throughout the life cycle of their assigned applications. The Analyst is heavily involved in planning, implementation and production support. The Analyst is responsible for managing end-user client relationships while responding to both critical and routine application support requests as well as interfacing with software vendors and consultants for development and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ability to create compelling business justification for recommended direction and design
- Experience interpreting user needs and accurately translating those requirements into functional specifications for new systems, systems changes and/or system enhancements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate and work cross functionality with the development teams
- Ability to interpret technical documentation to meet business needs. Correctly identifies system/functional interdependencies.
- Very good analysis and problem solving skills
- High aptitude for interpreting technical documentation as well as authoring or updating documents as needed.
- Ability to become a process and subject matter expert.
- Evaluate business process implications of system requirements and make appropriate redesign recommendations.
- Quickly learn the functionality of packaged applications and understand how to implement and configure them to meet a business's needs.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work both independently and within cross functional project teams.

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Expert knowledge of the underlying tables and vanilla processes in SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM)
- Experience with Materials Management (MM), Inventory Management (MM-IM), SAP Purchasing Planning (PP) Warehouse Management (WMS), Sales and Distribution (SD) Logistics and Execution (LE)
- Experience with Order Management and FI-GL are a strong plus
- Strong analytical sills combined with a sense of urgency and high energy level
- Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to articulate technical concepts to business leaders
- Business analysis experience and ability to write business requirements and functional specs
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications preferred
- Experience using an implementation methodology for at least 1 full life cycle implementation preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- At least 5 years of experience in SAP supporting the deployment and support of Business Applications.
