REQUIRED EDUCATIONwith advanced courses attended in business or information systems management.
3-5 years of similar experience preferred
Logical Design Demonstrated experience with large scale, multiple business solutions
across divisions or enterprise
Ability to communicate strategies and processes around data modelling and
architecture to cross functional groups and senior levels
Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Data modelers for the specific project requires extensive knowledge and hands on experience of working in both Native HANA and BW on HANA environments that are connected to heterogeneous source systems. Exposure to working on Sybase IQ database will be an advantage.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED
Should be enthusiastic learners, dedicated to customer service and quality control. They also should have excellent problem-solving and time management skills. Team management skill will be required as multiple resources will be executing the delivery on the project and this position will coordinate all data modelling tasks. Ability to operate in a multi vendor/system environment to utilize the benefits of the best of all available products and features.

DATA MODELER ROLE DESCRIPTION (REPRESENTATIVE AND NOT EXHAUSTIVE):
Interact with Business Analysts to get the functional requirements.
Interact with end users and find out the reporting needs.
Conduct interviews, brain storming discussions with project team to get additional requirements.
Gather accurate data by data analysis and functional analysis. Development of data model:
Create standard abbreviation document for logical, physical and dimensional data
models.
Create logical, physical and dimensional data models (data warehouse Datamodelling).
Document logical, physical and dimensional data models (data warehouse Datamodelling).
Create SQL code from data model and co-ordinate with DBAs to create development, testing, regression and production database.
Check to see data models and databases are in sync.
Adding data base objects (like indexes, partitions in database) for performance.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Data modelers will be working with a team of data architects, and will be engaged in translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models, who may focus on issues such as reducing redundancy of data within an existing computer system or improving the way in which it moves from one system to another This position includes use of data profiling tools and techniques, and development of review and QA data requirements.

REPORTS:
Generate reports from data model.

REVIEW:
Review the data model with functional and technical team.

Support & Maintenance:
Assist developers, ETL, BI team and end users to understand the data model.
Maintain change log for each data model.
