The Client

My client is a globally known business who are recognized as an innovator and leader in their business field. Over recent years they have gone through an SAP implementation project, which has already gone live.

The Role

As a result of the SAP implementation this global leader now requires an SAP SD / VMS Functional Analyst who will be responsible for working closely with business key users and CoE colleagues to provide high-quality functional and technical support, deliver solution configuration enhancements and work on projects relating to the current SAP ECC 6.0 solution with other members of the CoE team.

Principal Accountabilities:

Provide functional and some technical expertise, guidance and leadership on leveraging the capabilities of SAP VMS to business stakeholders
Ensure incident and change management is being progressed in a timely manner and adhering to the defined governance rules
Act as principal liaison between business key users and the CoE for investigating, analysing, and implementing SAP business solutions (this includes documenting and mapping business requirements, analysing processes, identifying business change gaps, and developing the necessary SAP enhancements to satisfy business needs)
Produce end-to-end solutions for new and existing projects and provide the corresponding Technical Specifications when required
Manage complex incident resolution (root-cause analysis, problem statements)
Deliver maintenance releases (defect fixes)
Operate as the internal technical expert on ABAP Development
Provide excellent responsiveness for level 2 and 3 business support requests
Monitor key SAP business processes to ensure they are being followed and where improvement is needed, collaboratively introducing appropriate activities with business users to drive adoption

Desired Skills and Experience

Preferred candidates will have had at least 3 full project life cycles and an in-depth knowledge of the following areas:

Strong configuration and testing skills in the areas of SAP Sales & Distribution, Order Management and Inter company
Knowledge of VMS (Vehicle Management System) and IPC (Internet Pricing Configurator)
Strong knowledge of ABAP
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Knowledge of CRM processes
Solid understanding of the business and the SAP product set in order to effectively analyse the current state and how changes may need to be made to successfully implement a SAP solution
Knowledge of SAP Smartforms
Experience in RFC, IDOC/ALE/SAP PI
Strong analytical skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to write at a publication quality level in order to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support
Security (Roles and Authorisations)
Strong knowledge of integration points
