SAP (ERP) Implementation Manager

My client in Pennsylvania is looking for a SAP Implementation Manager for a 2 - 4 year contract opportunity.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Local Implementation Manager (one of two) takes overall responsibility for the implementation of the SAP solution into the specific site of the business. They will work closely with the GT project team and other Deployment Team members to ensure the business requirements are clearly understood and delivered within the solution while being cognizant of the differences between global management and local requirements.

The Local Implementation Manager will also work with the Release Manager to ensure they meet the acceptance criteria for the relevant release. They will further ensure that the GT SAP solution fits into the local landscape, which may require changes to other IT systems.

They are accountable for the deployment local implementation project plans, deliverables, quality and progress tracking. They will be responsible for the delivery of the solution that meets the local business needs within budget and on time.

BACKGROUND:

- B.S. Degree in Business Administration/related field or equivalent.
- Experience with deploying a Greenfield ERP solution at a global level and a minimum of 7 years of experience specifically implementing an ERP solution (SAP) is required.
- Ideal experience should include using a release approach.
- Must have excellent project management and change process experience.
- Project management qualifications or credentials are preferred.
- Must have ability to lead as senior manager and direct teams.
- Must be willing and able to travel internationally (approximately 50%).

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Develop project plans in conjunction with the Deployment team and local deployment resources, covering technical and business transformation activities.
- Track progress against plans including business benefits, ensuring deliverables and milestones are on track, and taking the necessary corrective action when they are not.
- Track and manage project delivery to schedule and budget. Manage the project risks, issues and dependencies for the implementation and input to the overall deployment logs.
- Implement the right project change readiness for the deployment project which works in harmony with the global governance.
- Ensure any gaps with the GT are resolved together, using the existing global change request process and implementing appropriate local filters (governance) to ensure the pipeline does not become clogged and inefficient.
- Assist the Program Manager in ensuring adherence to the governance policies and procedures.
- Identify, assign and manage the technical resources on the implementation while cognizant of the deployment program requirements.
- Provide guidance and support for the technical project resources.
- Adopt the global methodology where relevant and identifies and plugs any local gaps with best practice methods.
- Develop and enforce quality assurance processes.
- Validate completeness of deliverables before sign off at each milestone.
- Controls project scope in line with the agreed change control process (global and local).
- Implement and monitor mechanisms for knowledge transfer and experience sharing within the team, especially across other implementations.
- Provide guidance and direction throughout each implementation.
- Liaises between the project team and the local team.
- Ensure consistency of communications and alignment with the GT and local sites.
- Develop and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate all local activity to prepare the business for implementation, eg local systems remediation and data cleansing.
