SAP Data Migration Consultant

My client are looking for an experienced Data Migration Expert who has specific experience with Legacy ERP to SAP Data Migration projects.

JOB PURPOSE

Working alongside their counterparts country business data experts and regional data migration team, this person will be responsible for performing the tasks that will facilitate the successful transfer of MASTER DATA from the Legacy systems onto the new ERP system SAP; this is for critical objects such as Material, Customer and Pricing.

This person must ensure that the Data on the new ERP system is complete, accurate, cleansed and up to date before the ERP can be deployed to the affiliates. To achieve the above this person will act as the primarly contact for the regional data migration team and deliver migration documents. He/she must be able to demonstrate that the above tasks have been fully performed, so that country business data expert can approve and sign off the Master Data on the new ERP system.

Overall, we have currently country business expert who know their data and a regional data migration team who is driving the migration plan. For these 3 critical objects, we are looking for a data migration expert in order to bring more technical expertise and make sure the data migration plan is executed successfully.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ASSIGNED OBJECTS

Cleansing of Data
- Support the country business data expert and execute data cleansing on the Legacy system in good time; this is to ensure that only data that is required for functional or compliant purposes is migrated onto the new ERP system.

Extraction of Data from Legacy system and correct mappings onto ERP system
- Work with business data expert to ensure that the correct data is extracted from the Legacy system(s) for the assigned OTI data objects.
- Perform value mapping with support from business data expert to ensure that the cor-rect and additional mandatory fields are populated in the new ERP system.
- Ensure that the Master Data Files are continuously being cleansed & updated so that they are complete and accurate for each mock and the production run.
- For objects that are loaded using the Semi - Construction method, ensure the data is collected and mapped correctly into the Master Data Files for each MOCK and for the production run.
- For objects loaded manually ensure that these are loaded successfully and accurately for each MOCK and production run.
- Ensure data readiness and verify quality throughout data journey for assigned data ob-jects.

Validation of Data - pre and post load
- Carry out validation checks using Data Verification Test Scripts (DVT). This involves carrying sample checks of the data both before and after the load to ensure it is fit for purpose.
- Capture evidence of validation checks in Proton Tool and raise defects (together with regional data migration team) in Tool to ensure that that these are rectified before the new ERP system is deployed to the affiliates.
- Communicate all validation checks to country business data expert so that they can sign off the data before it is deployed.

Dual Maintenance and Hyper Care Support
- Support/execute business data expert for pre-load dual maintenance, perform post load dual maintenance.
- Act as a SPOC as part of defect management process during Hyper-care.

Project Language will be in English if you have any French Dutch Language skills this would be of benefit although not essential.
