SAP ABAP Programmer

Senior Programmer/Business Analyst

Exciting SAP Programming opportunity for a role large manufacturer in the Upstate South Carolina area working on a long term project. Candidate will need to be equally as strong not only technically, be able to connect with the Business.

Responsibilities

Takes the lead role for the technical/functional development and support of IT applications in his/her assigned area such as HR, Business Integration, Logistics, and Manufacturing. Plans, designs, develops, and implements efficient IT systems in support of assigned organizational functions. Applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Performs duties of the IT CWF Specialist plus:

Performs planning, analysis, designing, requirements definition, functional design, development, testing and implementation of IT solutions.

Provides support for difficult and complex system environments.

Provides support, assistance and training to users.

Manages small to medium sized projects with planning, development and implementation of system solutions. Project management could include budget control responsibility.

Simultaneously coordinates activities for multiple projects.

Effectively uses ITPM methodology in performing all tasks.

Meets with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.

Ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.

Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to application developers.

Performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.

Conducts research on software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.

Performs other duties as assigned by BMW operations supervisor.

Qualifications

B) Experience: 3 to 5 years experience in a variety of programming languages preferably ABAP/4, C++, JAVA, HTML, JSP, J2EE, SQL, Oracle, UNIX/Linux

3 to 5 years experience in planning, analysis, design, testing, implementation, documenting and training of IT applications

3 to 5 years programming experience

3 to 5 years experience in project management

3 to 5 years experience working in a customer service orientated environment

3 to 5 years experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

C) Training: Desired training in systems used in assigned area of responsibility

Desired training in Project Management

D) Licenses and/or Certifications: Process/project management experience or training/certifications (preferred).

Education

BA/BS in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent degree with 3-5 years experience in IT Applications development and support; or AS degree in Computer Science with 5+ years experience working in an IT applications environment.
