Sanctions Specialist Needed at Global Bank

Naturally this would report to the Head of Sanctions and you would be required to cover for in this person's absence. This is an excellent position for a senior financial crime professional with a particular passion for Sanctions and broader financial crime issues (AML/ABC/CTF).

This role is at Group level, allowing the successful candidate the opportunity to interact with full range of banking units and services on financial crime issues providing full exposure to the business in general. As Deputy Head of Sanctions your responsibilities will include:

* Maintain and help oversee the Sanctions policy across the banks global operations
* Provide support and advisory to the associated Sanctions professionals across the global banking group
* Manage and facilitate the maintenance of AML, Sanctions and ABC training for the Group
* Review and update the group-wide Sanctions policy and procedures working with team members and relevant stakeholders
* Provide day to day advice on sanctions policy matters relating to customers and transactions
* Ensure that Sanction matters are correctly referred and appropriately escalated

Key skills/Qualifications needed:

* Excellent understanding of OFAC, HMT, EU and UN jurisdictional sanctions laws and regulations as well as industry best practice
* In depth knowledge of financial crime regulatory environment
* Proven track record of management and leadership
* Strong experience within banking and the associated products
* Experience in providing training and development
* Excellent Project Management skills
* Willingness to travel (30%)
* Foreign languages (preferred)
