SAN SUPPORT ENGINEER REDMOND, WA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

The successful candidate for this position will be actively monitoring server and services that support multiple projects and technologies. Ensures incoming tickets, monitoring alerts, or request for support emails are promptly responded to, ticketed, and resolved. Responsible for the accuracy of application deployments to machines, timely completion of assigned tasks, and provide detailed reporting on regular bases. Co-manages, creates, and maintains teams support documentation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Investigate failed infrastructure, systems, or services
- Drive, plan, and execute assigned projects or tasks in a timeline manner
- Document processes and challenges
- Communicate effectively with engineering, test, and product development groups
- Maintain, set up, and configure storage hardware
- Create and deliver accurate system and service reports
- Actively monitor, create, prioritize, and drive tickets to resolution
- Create and maintain solutions for storage management and reporting.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

- Working knowledge and experience managing Direct attached and SAN Storage
- Working knowledge and experience managing OEM Servers and Hardware
- Working knowledge and experience completing Server and Storage performance analysis
- Ability to manage several critical issues at the same time
- SOLID troubleshooting skills; ability and skills to troubleshoot software, hardware and networking issues
- Clear written communication skills
- Working knowledge and experience administering Windows 7/2008/2012 environments
- Working knowledge and experience writing and editing scripts (Batch, PowerShell)
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Experience and comfort working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience working in high paced operations environment
- Experience building or testing Windows/Windows Phone Operating Systems a plus

This position works an 8 hour shift in an office environment between the Operations Core Build Storage Team support hours of (8AM 6PM). Candidate could be asked to work off hours and weekends to support critical services or complete necessary project or tasks. Candidate must be able to physically lift and move items up to 40 pounds. Resource reports directly to Area Lead Operation Engineer.
