This UK industry is currently worth around GBP 26.5 billion and over 64,000 consultants are employed in the UK alone; a number which is increasing.

Working in the sector means you are at the heart of the business world. Recruitment consultants must understand the strategic gaps within organisations and then meet those needs in the labour market by building a strong network of contacts, which is developed throughout their careers. We offer a structured training programme, in which the core skills and knowledge you have already gained are developed and complimented with learning in specialist recruitment, business development, account management, customer service and negotiation skills.

On a day to day basis, consultants will immediately start growing their professional network, help manage existing client relationships and assist experienced team members in delivering recruitment assignments.

From the start, you will be in regular contact with senior people both from a client and candidate perspective: it's important, therefore, that you establish good relationships (make friends!) quickly.

A day may include meeting with a client to discuss the role they are looking to recruit for; this could include pitching for the role and selling the benefits of using Nigel Wright's services, job applications, reviewing CVs and interviewing and assessing candidates.

You'll also start to learn how to produce shortlists and report on candidates, as well as the process for giving your recommendations on candidate suitability, either by presenting or discussing your findings with clients.

Your time is divided between office based on the job learning, classroom learning, visiting clients and interviewing prospective candidates, where you will quickly gain an insight into our customers and their needs. alongside an expanding workforce and an increasing international network of clients. We offer a competitive and realistic package of GBP 50-GBP 55K, this includes a high basic salary and car allowance + uncapped bonus.

What to expect during your first six months of joining us:

. Intensive 3 month trainiBusiness development is key to the role. ng programme specifically tailored to Nigel Wright and delivered by our business leaders;
. You will become part of a dedicated team, bringing the best talent to a wide range of leading consumer product brands such as Red Bull, Hovis, Johnson
. Attend candidate interviews and client meetings;
. Participate in business development, researching and building relationships with clients.

Consultants are trained in recruitment techniques, to develop market knowledge and become experts in a specific area. For most of the time you'd be based in our London office, however you should expect to attend frequent meetings with clients. Travel, both within the UK and potentially abroad, is part of the job.
