Safety Officer

We are currently recruiting for a global Oil and Gas operator who is offering an excellent career opportunity for Safety and HSE specialists. The position of Safety Officer offers a fantastic opportunity on a long-term contract basis with the potential for further extension, with a major Oil and Gas operator at the St Fergus Gas Plant, Aberdeenshire, on an excellent package.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the safety performance of operations and provide advice on safety issues to all levels of personnel in order to ensure working practices, procedures and systems meet statutory requirements, industry and company standards. The role must co-ordinate and liaise with relevant personnel to ensure safe completion of work scopes; and highlight any safety, health and environmental concerns to relevant parties to ensure effective follow-up and resolution.

This role will operate on a rotational shift pattern: 12 hour dayshifts, 2 weeks on/2 weeks off. Candidates during the 2 weeks on shift period would be expected to stay no more than approximately 30 minutes away from the St Fergus site.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

*Experience of safety in the petrochemical industry.
*A professional safety qualification is required, eg NEBOSH certificate or similar.
*Working knowledge of safety legislation relevant to site of safe working practices.
*Competent in the techniques of safety auditing, accident investigation and reporting.
