SAFETY OCCUPANT MODELLING ENGINEER

JOB TITLE: Safety Occupant Modelling Engineer

An exciting opportunity for a Safety Occupant Modelling Engineer has arisen with my client an, a prestigious and successful Automotive manufacturer. The Safety Occupant Modelling Engineer will work to provide CAE support to the Vehicle Safety team in the form of occupant simulation for impacts scenarios.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- To conduct external testing.
- Lead performance delivery of vehicle safety attribute to agreed company targets.
- Provide analysis capability and design support to the Body Engineering team.
- This will entail the use of CAE tools and other calculation methods to assist in the design process, designing components and systems to meet performance, weight and cost targets.
- Conduct frontal occupant, side occupant interaction during crash events.
- Support safeties attribute sub-system and full vehicle physical test analysis support.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Engineering degree (or equivalent) desirable 2.1
- Extensive experience using LS-Dyna and Nastran/LS-Dyna Implicit
- Working knowledge of world safety standards and test procedures
- To ability to construct a full vehicle crash model from scratch
