Safety Engineer - SC Clearance

Safety Engineer sought to join the safety engineering team members who provide safety engineering skills to the project, which is predominantly software based, although hardware and health and safety aspects are also included.

The Safety Engineer will provide the safety assessments undertaken within the assigned workstream, which will involve the following activities:
* Review of new tasking for safety assessment;
* Review and safety assessment of Change Requests and Defects;
* Undertaking analysis of new functionality;
* Participation in Engineering Reviews;
* Liaison with the Governance and Design Teams;
* Participation in Safety Panel/Working Group meetings;
* Examination of potential safety risks;
* Implementation of safety strategies and plans;
* Input to design of safety aspects of the emerging solution;
* Safety options assessment;
* Maintenance of existing safety documentation.

Essential skills:-
*My client is looking for a suitably qualified System Safety Engineer possessing:
*Solid background in safety engineering
*Up-to-date knowledge of Secure Government Policy and UK (and other relevant) legislation concerning Functional Safety and Health & Safety (eg: Def Stan 00-56, ASEMS (POSMS
oSafety Argument development using Goal-Structuring Notation (GSN) or Claims-Argument-Evidence (CAE);
oFunctional Failure Analysis (FFA); - Hazard Identification (HAZID);
oHazard and Operability Study (HAZOPS);
oHazard Log development and management;
oSafety Management Systems implementation at all stages of the programme (ie requirements, production and operational), including the presentation of appropriate safety cases;
oSafety Case Report production;
*Knowledge and experience of working with Aircraft Software Systems.
*Knowledge of software development methods and safety related information systems.
