RATES: £400 - £450 PER DAY

A global leading digital seeks a ruby developer to join their expanding team. Will be working on numerous green field projects, must have experience within Rails 3 ideally higher. Also looking ideally for a good digital background along with skills such as BDD/TDD, RSpec etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand and interpret project objectives.

Design, develop and test solutions to problems.

Help the team lead define best practices, guidelines and testing methodologies.

Mentor other team members.

Address Digital Non-Functional Requirements during the development process.

Review proposed architectural changes.

Maintain existing products with a sense of shared ownership.

Assist the scrum master in defining the agile process.

Collaborate with all members of a multi-disciplinary team.

RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER/RAILS 3/4/BDD/TDD/RSPEC/CUCUMBER/HEROKU/RESTFUL/

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

-

Solid RoR experience

-

Rails 3.x, 4.x and Ruby 1.9.x, 2.x experience

Excellent understanding of HTTP
-

Test/Behaviour-Driven Development and test automation using tools such as RSpec, Capybara and Cucumber
-

Experience consuming RESTful web services, and a solid understanding of API design principles and best-practice
-

Experience using Git and GitHub as well as branching models and workflows such as Git flow
-

Working in an Agile methodology, Scrum or Kanban.

Experience of writing Ruby gems
-

Deployment using git-push, Capistrano or similar
-

Cloud hosting - Heroku or AWS for example

Continuous Integration using tools such as Jenkins, Travis
