RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER, NETHERLANDS, CONTRACT

One of our prestigious clients is currently looking to add an experienced Ruby On Rails Developer to one of their sites based in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

THE ROLE

- Defining and implementing a solution for building source code in a separate environment build on git/stash, gradle and artifactory.
- Enhancing the test environment using Cucumber, Java and Ruby to automatically test the new Modular SCM and verifying that code changes are backwards compatible (old SCM system vs new SCM system).
- Deployment of new Modular way of working ('Break-Out Archive') towards development community.
- Developing the modular SCM system using Ruby, Gradle and Groovy.
- Re-create the test environment using Cucumber & Ruby.
- Develop independent patch creation system.
- Deploy solution to development community.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Solid Ruby experience or solid experience with a similar language and some ruby experience
- TDD/BDD
- Strong, self-driven attitude towards good development
- Agile
- Setting up tool installation mechanisms (eg Puppet, Ansible)
- Creating tooling packages (eg rpm, .deb)
- Configuring CI tooling
- Build and Dependency Management tools (eg Gradle/Groovy, Maven)
- Git and Git repository management solutions (eg GitHub/GitLab, Atlassian Stash)
