Ruby on Rails Developer

SynergisIT, recognized by Staffing Industry Report as one of the fastest growing private IT staffing companies in the US, is seeking Ruby on Rails Developer for a contract assignment for one of our client's in Cupertino, CA.  Our client is seeking someone who is energized by problem-solving, analysis, troubleshooting, personal service to other our clients employees, and who can craft Web applications using Ruby and Rails. This person will be responsible for working on additional features/enhancements to an existing application.

AS A RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: 

- Designing and writing Web applications (Ruby and Rails)
- Writing thorough unit, functional or integration tests using Rspec or Cucumber before writing code
- Solving problems on their own: asking for resources, knowledge, or advice instead of step-by-step direction
- Generating and keeping the trust of their teammates and customers
- Discovering how developing software as a member of a team differs from being the sole developer/designer of an application
- Learning how to collaborate with other developers to find alternative designs, receive feedback through peer code reviews, access new technical knowledge, and get other's ideas
- Learning to design applications in a way that prevents performance problems as they grow
- Deliver code implementing features or bug fixes which are accepted by the person requesting them

AS A RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- Knowledge of languages and frameworks they work in (Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Cucumber and Rspec among the server team)
- Designing and writing Web applications (Ruby and Rails)
- Disciplining themselves to write thorough unit, functional or integration tests using Rspec or Cucumber before writing code
- Solving problems on their own: asking for resources, knowledge, or advice instead of step-by-step direction
- Recognizing needs and taking action on their own
