Ruby Developer - Contract - London - 6 Months

RUBY DEVELOPER - CONTRACT - LONDON - 6 MONTHS

We're looking for an experienced Ruby developer to work in a very strong established technical team.

The successful candidates will need to show outstanding Ruby and Rails skills. Other key skills inclused Apache and MySQL (or similar) web Servers and databases, and a good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

The perfect candidate will be from an E-commerce background, with knowledge of JavaScript (in particular ExtJS), mobile web and/or native development, scalability problem solving, as well as experience working in a Unix environment. Any experience in payments would also be a bonus

Agile development methodologies, and strong TDD are a must - with BDD looked upon favourably..

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Ruby, Rails
- JavaScript (ExtJS)
- Solid Object-Oriented Design
- Ability to take ownership of a project or issue, analyse it and solve problems not faced before
- Mobile web and/or native development
- TDD and object-oriented design skills
- Experience with agile development methodologies and modern development tools, eg Continuous Delivery with Jenkins, Source Control with Git, BDD with Cucumber
- Previous E-commerce experience would be a benefit
