RPG Developer

This RPG analyst programmer provides programming support for existing software enhancements. Support may be for customer or internal organizations.This is a support programming role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum of 5years of experience in RPG programming.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Associates or Bachelor's degree.
* Experience with one or a combination of RPG III, RPG IV/ILE, RPG Free and CL.
* Experience with SQL and Embedded SQL.
* Knowledge of DB2 database is a plus.
* Ability to write software code; good knowledge of appropriate programming language(s).
* Ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
* Strong knowledge of the financial industry.
* Strong knowledge of applicable Change Management System.
* Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Develops programming code for existing software enhancements.
* Devises block diagrams, logic procedures and prepares flowcharting.
* Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.
* Tests code and fixes to ensure quality.
* Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software.
* Provides programming support for various interfaces.
* Keeps customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes.
* Creates all programming documentation.
* Completes project bids.
* Mentors, trains, develops and provides support to less experienced co-workers.
