Routing and Switching Integration Support Engineer

My client is a market leader in the space, aeronautics and related services industry.
They require a Routing and Switching Integration Support Engineer who will have the following responsibilities:
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Coordination activities between the NCI AGENCY SP SMD, the NCI AGENCY Control Centre (NCC) and the Alternate NCC (Brunssum) personnel to create and ensure managerial, operational and procedural synergy where appropriate.
* On behalf of the NCI AGENCY SP SMD, establish processes for the monitor of operational performance, standards of maintenance to ensure that maintenance personnel comply with the prescribed maintenance procedures.
* Report to the NCIA SP SMD PTC System Manager on all related engineering and technical matters.
* Provide technical advice to the NGCS SMD TIB PTC System Manager for managing and supervising the maintenance of ISAF and European POP communication system, sub-systems, and supporting facilities.
* Assist with ISAF and European POP process and procedural standardization.
* Assist NCIA SP SMD in the maintenance and promotion of network maps created in accordance to a common template structure, with Microsoft Visio, as defined by NCIA SP SMD.
* Liaise with the NCIAGENCY SP SMD, the NCI AGENCY Control Centre (NCC) and the Alternate NCC (Brunssum) to promote a strategy of a common approach to Troubleshooting within the Networking Infrastructure.
* Establish Standard Operating Procedures for the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on the ISAF and European POP routing and switching elements.
* Liaise with the NCIA SP SMD PTC System Manager for tasking and to discuss responsibilities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Conceptual understanding of Datacentre technologies and Virtualized Switching such as Hyper-V, VMWare and Nexus1000V.
* A minimum of 4 years' experience with the configuration and operation of HP Network Automation or equivalent network automation and orchestration systems.
* Over 4 years' experience of CISCO Routing and Switching Elements.
* A minimum of 4 years' experience with the configuration and operation of Network Monitoring and Event Management systems ideally Intermapper, Spectrum, Cisco ACS and Splunk.
* Over 4 years' experience of working in a centrally managed network environment.
* Proven experience in the use of an Incident Management System such as BMC Remedy.
* A high level of knowledge of network, system and application level troubleshooting techniques.
* Knowledge of communications protocols and practical experience of using diagnostic test equipment.
* Extensive knowledge of implementing and operating LAN technologies (eg HSRP, STP, Switching, VLANs, DHCP snooping, ARP Inspection, Port-Security)
* Working knowledge of operating network authentication and authorization systems and technologies (eg Secure ACS 5.x, ISE, 802.1x, 802.1ae MACSEC, RADIUS, TACACS+)
* Experience in implementing/commissioning network equipment and participate in projects delivering network capabilities.
* A minimum 5 years' experience in Information Technology.
The successful candidate must be NATO or SC Cleared.
