Rotating Equipment Engineer - Lake Charles

My client is searching for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to be based in Lake Charles, LA. The Engineer will be working in the office as well as the refinery. Candidates must be based in Lake Charles or willing to relocate to Lake Charles.

Eligible candidates must have a TWIC card or be willing to obtain one.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will provide technical support to maintenance & operations to increase rotating equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs; complete failure analyses (root cause failure analysis) of rotating equipment systems to determine root causes for failures and recommend improvements to eliminate future failures.

Additional Duties Include:

*Champion reliability of rotating equipment in assigned area by promoting, training, presentations and other activities to keep awareness high.

*Utilize vibration and process data to troubleshoot and predict impending failures of rotating equipment in order to avoid secondary damage.

*Establish guidelines for and monitor the performance of the preventative maintenance programs.

*Provide technical assistance for rotating equipment systems on unit turnarounds and on equipment start-ups (start-up).

*Provide maintenance department input on rotating equipment repair scopes and capital projects.

*Identify and implement improvement ideas to improve operational performance, increase availability (MTBF) and/or reduce costs.

Job Requirements (Education/Experience):

*B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, required

*2 to 15 years of refinery or petrochemical plant experience with rotating equipment especially pumps, motors, turbines, and compressors, required

*Experience with vibration analysis, preferred

*Strong PC skills with vibration software, preferred

*Good verbal and written communications skills, required

*Valid Driver's License
