POSITION: RISK Technology Java Developer
LEVEL: Consultant / Contractor

REPORTS TO: Senior Developer Lead

LOCATION: New York City

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

This is a senior Java developer position to work on multiple Market Risk Initiatives in the Strategic Global Platform

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Previous Experience:

* 8+ Years of core Java programming experience required at a senior developer level.
* 3+ years of Flex UI programming experience
* Working knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis / Design
* Ability to write high performance code
* Should be good at multithreading and distributed systems.
* Experience in Spring.
* Flex experience creating good and complex user interface representing financial data.
* Experience building distributed systems, caching technology.
* Candidate should have good command over concurrency, performance optimization, large data processing and optimal memory storage.
* Strong Database skills across SQL Server, Oracle ExaData
* Good experience in working with in-memory, cache systems
* Good Development rigor with code reviews, unit testing

Other Competencies:

* Knowledge of Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk in Capital Markets
* Familiarity of Financial Products and Market Data. Specifically Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivative instruments.
* Manage tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
* Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design
* Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
* Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of the project

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
