PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for undertaking due diligence to comply with anti-money laundering regulations and laws * Assists fellow, particularly more junior, team members from time to time with other due diligence or related queries * Responsible for reviewing conflict searches to identify potential legal and commercial conflicts of interests * Assist supervisor as a resource to the team in analysing and potentially resolving conflicts and due diligence related queries * Liaising with fee earners regarding conflicts and confidentiality issues arising, and ensuring procedures and policies are followed * Assisting with the inception process, including all aspects of client and matter intake * Ability to carry out risk assessments, applying knowledge and full analysis and identifying when escalation is required and why. * Dealing with, and suggesting improvements to, regular audit of pending inceptions * Maintaining records relevant to client and matter inception including database updates, and ensuring bespoke practices are shared with the wider team * Deputising for supervisor when necessary * Providing training to new joiners within the risk team, and carrying out induction sessions for new joiners within the firm and refresher training on an ad hoc basis * Assisting with reviews of policies and procedures * Supporting supervisor, and wider team with involvement in ad hoc projects and initiatives. * Participation in risk management projects as required, including leading/running smaller projects KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * An advanced understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations 2007 and how they are applied in the context of an international legal practice * An understanding of the professional obligations in relation to conflicts of interest and the duties of confidentiality and disclosure * Knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct 2011 and Outcomes Focused Regulation * Sound ability to identify and assess risk * Uses initiative and demonstrates strong client service focus, providing prompt and accurate responses and progress updates * Demonstrable ability to prioritise, plan for and manage competing demands and meet deadlines * Eager to learn, and actively seeks out developmental opportunities * Strong analytical skills, able to be detail orientated whilst understanding wider context * Able to demonstrate awareness of how their role fits into the wider team and how their work relates to wider firm values. * A university degree is essential * Experience working in a commercial law firm is preferred To find out more about Huxley Associates, please visit
