RISK MANAGER - BANKING - GLASGOW

A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY HAS JUST ARISEN FOR AN EXPERIENCED RISK MANAGER TO WORK FOR A WORLD RENOWNED UK FINANCIAL ORGANISATION WITHIN THEIR WEALTH OPERATIONS ON A CONTRACT BASIS IN GLASGOW.

My client is currently looking for an experienced Risk Manager to assist management overseeing the day to day governance of the respective department processes, regulatory controls and management reporting associated. In addition the successful candidate will provide support and partner with members of the team to further focus on the control framework, provide transparency into existing gaps in the front to back processes and enhance the efficiency of controls.

THE CANDIDATE'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WITH THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

- Lead, motivate and manage a team of circa 6 Risk and Control staff
- Definition, analysis and reporting of KPI (Key Performance Indicators) including presentation to senior management
- Drive consistent best practice across business areas and regions to ensure consistent reporting on key metrics and risk and control initiatives
- Support risk and control governance by reviewing key control and performance indicators by challenging/validating as appropriate with the owners to provide commentary against status
- Ability to facilitate risk & control workshops and training sessions, reviewing how current processes operate and fine-tuning or re-designing processes to minimize and mitigate risk
- Supporting central risk and control agenda by promoting and utilizing b:)tools and operations best practice standards
- Ensure timely escalation of significant risk issues
- Perform ad hoc deep dives into failing processes and recommend remediation path
- Delivering Risk & Control road maps

IN SHORT WE NEED FROM YOU AND IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE:

- Proven leadership experience as a Risk Manager in a large financial services organisation previously
- Proven delivery experience as a Risk Manager from previous assignments
- Someone with strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to identify and appropriately escalate issues and risks
- A strong practical understanding of the importance of a rigorous controls environment
- Strong attention to detail and diligence combined with good analytical problem solving skills
