I am in contact as I am currently recruiting on behalf of my Retail Banking client for a Operational Risk Manager to sit on the 1st Line of defence. The role as a Operational Risk Manager will encompass both Risk Change and Risk Frameworks along with day to day operational Risks. The successful Risk Manager will need to come from a 1st Line of defence background and preferably have expertise within a Sales, Contact Centre or IFA Risk environment.

The successful Risk Manager will sit within a Front Office (Contact Centre) Sales team and ensure the business is controlling Risk and managing controls effectively. Somebody with experience within a IFA, Stockbroking or Sales environment would be highly beneficial.

The Risk Manager will report Directly into the Insurance Risk Director and be confident in working on a 1st Line of defence, along with working with and advising various Stakeholders across the Insurance arm of the Retail Bank.

Responsibilities

- Day to Day management of a portfolio of risk cases
- Assist in the delivery of tighter controls around Risk
- Raise awareness to the division on current risks and issues
- Investigating Fraudulent cases and making correct decisions on next steps
- Decisions and issues
- Progressing with raising change projects for the reduction in complaints and making decisions on having tighter controls around these incidents and issues
- Working closely with Business Managers as an Operational Risk Management issues

Skills and Experience Required

- 5+ years within Risk Management
- Expertise within an Operational Risk Management space
- Experience within a 1st line of defence for Risk
- Expertise as a Risk Manager within a Sales, Customer Service, IFAS or Stockbroking environment
- Expertise in working within Day to Day risk, along with delivery of Controls, Risk Frameworks, Identification of Issues and progressing with high importance cases

This is an exceptional Interim/Contracting opportunity based in Glasgow for a 6 month period. The client is willing to pay £450 - £500 per day (negotiable depending on expertise) and the client is interested in candidates that are able to start within 4-6 weeks.
