Risk Data Analyst

My client, a top UK bank, is looking to recruit a Data Analyst. The role is a 3 month temporary role however this has the potential to be extended.

Role Summary -
- The role is part of a project to manage the implementation of the new IFRS accounting standards - of particular importance to the project are the requirements for impairment calculations under IFRS 9.
- The project has been running for 8 months and has focused on understanding and assessing the impact of the new standards.

Required Experience/Skills -
- Ability to take data from a variety of sources, analyse, summarise and present findings and recommendations.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Finance and Risk systems experience.
- A competent user of Excel for modelling, and PowerPoint and other related software packages.
- Flexible/Adaptive approach to a subjective area.
- Self starter driving deliverables independently.

Desired Experience/Skills -
- Background in Financial Services, ideally banking & within Credit Risk functions.
- Experience of programming in SQL is highly desirable.
- Experienced use of SAS in the Risk Analytic context would be highly desirable.
- Knowledge of new IFRS accounting standards.
- Knowledge of credit risk and impairment modelling.
- Data warehouse project experience.
- Previous experience as a data analyst.
- Experience of working within Finance or Risk environment.
