Risk & Control Manager

My client is urgently seeking a risk and control manager to assist with an office move.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

- Assist with an office move from London to Cambridge.
- To support the operational teams in identifying risks that may emerge during assurance testing or as a result of change or issues within the eCommerce Operation.
- This role will raise any risks identified in line with the defined governance process, assist with raising supporting documentation, facilitate root cause analysis to address any findings, monitor progress against action plans and ensure corrective measures are implemented within a timely manner to minimise business risk.
- In addition this role will include reviewing and mapping processes to improve control and understanding of processes and flows

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- Plan, co-ordinate and conduct regular assurance sample testing throughout the Centre, recording progress and reporting results to the operational management team highlighting any shortfalls found
- Review the adequacy and effectiveness of Centre specific assurance tests, writing and implementing new test papers where required
- Maintain a central log of risks that have emerged during control testing or as a result of change within theeCommerce Operation, ensuring all supporting documentation is raised in line with the risk governance process and escalated to the business where appropriate
- Work with the operational teams to create action plans which will satisfactorily address the shortfalls outlined in the risk log, monitor and measure the progress against the targets set to ensure corrective action is taken within the agreed timescales, highlighting/escalating issues to Risk Board as necessary
- Use recognised continuous improvement tools to facilitate root cause analysis within the operational teams on all control/audit findings, optimising creative solutions which will address/mitigate vulnerability

EXPERIENCE

Essential

- Previous experience of working in a risk and control or project role within an operational environment
- Experience of audits/reviews at all levels and the management of findings/action plans
- Experience in leading root cause analysis and process mapping

Preferred

- Understanding of E-commerce products/services and of the processes used to support merchants using these services
- Understanding of relevant legislation and business compliance/regulatory requirements
