Risk and Compliance Manager

My client, a large public sector organisation, is currently looking for an experienced risk and compliance director to join their team in London. The ideal candidate will have risk management experience and a good understanding of solutions and products related to equity investments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support MD Risk & Compliance in designing and implementing policies and reporting in relation to the department's equity programmes.

* Work closely with the department's equity fund business to develop a thorough understanding of their programmes and the equity-specific risks to which the department is exposed.

* Support risk colleagues to identify, assess and monitor equity-specific risks, related compliance issues and develop enhanced controls.

* Lead the effort on continuous measuring and monitoring of equity-specific risks across all business units

* Lead the Risk and Compliance team's input into the design of equity product programmes or specific transactions.

* Coordinate day-to-day interactions between Risk & Compliance, the Equity Solutions team and external parties

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* A good understanding of solutions and products related to equity investments.

* A deep understanding of the UK venture capital industry and of the different industrial sectors supported by private finance.

* A working knowledge of UK and European Securities regulation and the ability to provide a practical interpretation of regulations in the context of the firm's business activities.

* Strong interpersonal skills

* A thorough understanding of financial analysis and equity valuations, risk concepts/frameworks with a special focus on unlisted and illiquid equities

THE ROLE IS FOR AN INITIAL 12 MONTH CONTRACT PAYING UP TO £460/DAY.
