RISK ANALYST-GENEVA-TRADING FIRM
The client
European and stable company specialized in energy trading, our client is looking for a risk analyst.
The purpose of the role is to work as a support to the Risk team and to provide Mark to Market analysis and ad hoc depth analysis. The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of the physical activities and a passion for figures.
The role
As a member of the Risk team, your main duties will be:
- Mark-to-market reporting, position and market price analyses
- Capturing the positions and entering them into the systems + reconciliation
- Evaluation of market risk metrics (Value at risk and Stress testing)
- Support in inventory management
- Support in projects related to the middle-office and back-office systems, as well as trading and risk management system
- Ad hoc analysis or report
The profile
The candidate will have/will be:
- A degree in finance or an equivalent experience
- Min. 2 years of experience in risk/middle office within an Energy trading company
- Good knowledge of the physical activities (trader and operator's duties understanding)
- Understanding of trading instruments used in energy markets
- Deep knowledge of Excel + advanced experience using Microsoft products in general (Excel/VB/Access)
- Solid analytical skills and financial/accounting skills
- Flexible, good team player, stress resilient, able to take initiative and to work autonomously
- Attention to details and capable to work with figures
- Willing to work with complex analysis and to go in depth
- Fluent in English (working language), any other language is an asset (French is a plus)
