Risk Analyst (Insurance)

The Treasury Risk Management Analyst function is responsible for evaluating business exposures and assessing the financial impact of a risk of loss. The team develops and implements strategies to reduce the client's overall cost of risk which considers the level of risk to retain versus transfer, and establishes the methodology for allocating insurance related expenses. The role will include regional responsibility in Europe with respect to evaluating the operational risks associated with the client's businesses in order to ensure relevant risks are adequately covered by way of insurance or other risk financing techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Determine the appropriate insurance or risk financing structures, including determination of retention levels and limits, and to select appropriate counterparties.
- Provide technical expertise on the indemnity and insurance provisions of contractual obligations and in handling complex property claims.
- Establish and maintain data bases of exposure and claims information, conducting detailed claims analysis and negotiating and structuring several of the client's key international insurance programs.
- Work closely with expert internal and external resources during the renewal process in an effort to collect and verify specific underwriting data and validate the extent to which insurance programs are cost efficient and provide the best available coverage.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics with Insurance experience.
- MBA in Finance is highly desirable.
- Background in Finance.
- 10+ years of insurance industry or risk management experience in a complex operating environment; subject matter expert in property and casualty; strong insurance market and broker relationships.
- Ability to effectively evaluate an issue by developing the analytical framework with which to analyze it.
- Experienced in formulating insights from the analysis and creating executive level presentations.
- Must possess highly developed analytical and problem solving skills; with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; position offers frequent exposure to Finance leadership (Treasurer, Regional/country CFO's and Controllers).
