RISK ANALYST - BANKING - HALIFAX - £450PD

We have a requirement for a Senior Risk Analyst to join a leading name in retail banking for a 6 month contract based in Halifax

To support the migration of Business processes from heritage Analytical systems to a strategic new platform. You will provide technical guidance to other developers and users on the best practices for effectively utilising the new system and SAS process re-coding, including guidance of the system and governance constraints

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Design, develop, maintain and enhance the data platform to support current and future Credit Risk business objectives and initiatives.
- Work with analysts and management to define the direction and requirements for Risk data to support Credit Risk business objectives.
- Design and develop data marts, summary tables and OLAP cubes to support Credit data analysis, modelling and reporting.
- Identify, understand and automate regular reporting and processes.
- Provide training and promote efficient and consistent use of the data environments across the different Risk teams.
- Support the system architecture including availability, software upgrades and performance.
- Support Credit Risk analysts across different locations in the UK.
- Support Credit Risk analysts with SAS working practice and mentor efficient and optimum use of the analysis tools.
- Develop and maintain system documentation including Data Dictionaries, User Guides, Design and maintenance procedures etc.

SKILLS:

- Preferably 3 years of SAS experience (SAS DI Studio), however, at least 1 year of experience is required.
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and create business ready, and compliant solutions in SAS
- Able to write comprehensive process documentation required to support the Route-to-Live process (including detailed designs, operations handbooks, other technical specification docs).
- Stakeholder Management experience is key. Ability to clearly articulate the data architecture, processes and provide workable solutions in an easy to understand format to SAS users.
- Team development and coaching of both technical solutions and customer interaction.
- Show well-developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, particularly the ability to convey key business information arising from complex data issues to non-technical people
- Good business acumen with the technical expertise to optimise and automate business processes.
- Experience of financial product data, especially Credit Risk would be beneficial.

ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

- SAS version 9.2.
- SAS integrated technologies ie DI Studio, SAS Management Console.
- Unix AIX
- Experience of the Finance industry, especially Credit Risk.
- Stakeholder management and good communication. Will provide a direct interface into the business and need to translate business requirements into technical change requests.
- Halifax based

RATE: £450 per day

LOCATION: Halifax, West Yorkshire

START: January 2015

DURATION: 6 months+
