JOB DESCRIPTION

To support the successful oversight of the operational risk and control management in line with client, company and regulatory guidelines.

- Conduct Risk and Controls testing of operations and support functions.
- Support the Risk Manager in communicating with clients with regards to risk and control reporting.
- Support the Risk manager in identifying emerging risks and issues and reporting these as appropriate.
- Provide expert technical support to the department in line with relevant policy, procedural and regulatory requirements

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:-

- Support the implementation of the Clients risk and controls framework.
- To liaise with clients, peers and colleagues to define operational risk and control standards, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements to build and maintain an excellent reputation for the Company.
- Conduct full risk and controls analysis for any changes driven by the client or business.
- To closely monitor risk and controls compliance performance and seek and implement resolutions.
- Report directly through to the site Capita Risk Manager.
- Produce Risk & Controls M.I to service the Functional Business area Internal Risk Committee.
- Effectively manage workloads to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Support operational management to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements to build and maintain an excellent reputation for the Company.
- Work with the business to educate/coach them about risks identification, management and control.
- Input into Risk Assessments and on occasion own selected risks related to specific changes.
- Attend Risk meetings with Clients as required.
- Represent the team/department on cross functional projects as required.
- Assist in preparing for Client and internal Audits.
- Provide advice and guidance to the Operation as and when required both succinctly and timely.
- Support Risk Manager with the Health and Safety obligations on the Client's site.
- Travel between sites is essential (primary site is Glasgow, travel to Liverpool also required)

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

- Relevant financial services experience
- Good knowledge and continuing professional development relating to the financial services products, processes and regulation (as evidenced by continuing accreditation). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in risk assessments
- Proven experience in control point definition and mapping
- Proven experience in risk testing
- Numeracy and advanced computer literacy (eg Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Able to analyse data, problem solve and make decisions confidently
- Customer focused when dealing with a range of people
- Have meticulous attention to detail
- Be highly organised and able to manage own workload to meet stretching targets and strict deadlines
- Excellent time management
- Effective meetings skills
- Proven ability to plan and control
- A good degree required or equivalent experience.
- Relevant risk qualification is highly desirable
