Rhapsody Business Analyst

Long-term contract opportunity in the St. Louis area.

BUSINESS ANALYST DUTIES:

1. Assist with completing system and internal user testing of inbound/outbound lab order/result messages.
2. Assist with coordinating the testing with a pilot provider (test plan and test case development and coordination with the pilot provider in executing test). Testing will incorporate receipt of lab orders and the return of lab results as well as reporting reportable conditions to Public Health.

REQUIREMENTS GATHERING AND RECONCILIATION

1. Independently gather requirements (with and without Use Cases) through facilitated sessions and/or individual interviews with client users.
2. Reconcile and document requirements to ensure all client user needs are accounted for prior to the creation of the design document. May request guidance from more experienced Business Analysts.
3. Maintain and apply a working knowledge of Requirement Gathering (eg with and without Use Cases).
4. Research and identify gaps in existing and proposed solutions that require closure in order to realize the accomplishment of business goals and objectives.
5. Document, analyze and prioritize integrated requirements to ensure complete requirements are gathered and documented.
6. Obtain customer signoff.

ANALYZE, SOLVE BUSINESS PROBLEMS, TEST

1. Evaluate solution alternatives and improvement opportunities to meet business requirements.
2. Participate in the development of the business cases and solution proposals in support of improved functionality with regard to Return on Investment (ROI) and long-term firm benefit.
3. Prepare documentation, including but not limited to, documents outlining methodology, new designs and major enhancements to existing systems.
4. Diagnose and analyze simple business and system problems.
5. Participate in and lead test planning and all test cycles using proven testing techniques.
6. Able to execute as well as manage functional testing efforts.
7. Experience using a project planning tool such as MS Project.
8. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities.
9. Effectively participate in change control and scope management efforts.
10. Successfully identify, address, manage and escalate risks and issues.

EXPERIENCE

1. Requires Knowledge of HL7.
2. Minimum of 5 years, typically 5-6 years related experience working in an IT department working on projects or serving customers in a business liaison role.
