RF Planning Engineer - Radio Communications

We are currently involved in the recruitment drive for a number of major projects both inside and outside Australia and need to add more engineers to our project teams. Specifically we are looking for engineers with experience in the radio planning of 2G/3G/4G mobile networks.

The positions may involve both inter-State and international travel.

Responsibilities include link budget design, nominal planning, desktop coverage, quality and traffic studies, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity, initial system design and dimensioning, site identification and evaluation, zoning analysis, zoning testimony support, frequency/SC/PCI planning and interference analysis

Specifically the responsibilities of the position(s) include:
- Perform RF network planning and design using Radio Planning tools such as ATOLL
- Perform link budget analysis, design criteria and traffic analysis using Radio Planning tool
- Ensure data integrity of various morphology/topography databases and drive test data for model calibration
- Understand equipment co-location requirements for multiple operators and able to analyse using Automatic Cell Planning (ACP) tools such as Capesso
- Perform inter-modulation analysis
- Perform site search ring issue and site candidate evaluation
- Support leasing/zoning teams as subject matter expert at zoning hearings
- Verify RF related site engineering drawings
- Perform co-channel and adjacent channel interference testing and analysis
- Perform radio network design for high capacity wireless networks using GSM, UMTS & LTE technologies.
- Tools knowledge: Forsk Atoll, NSN Netact

Experience in LTE Planning or Initial Tuning/Optimisation will be highly regarded.

Qualifications should include a Bachelor degree in Engineering or IT/Computer Science (Telecommunication, Electrical, etc.) and 5 years' experience in Cellular RF engineering preferably with NSN
