RF Planning and Optimization Engineer

A well recognised telecommunications organisation is seeking an experienced RF Planning and Optimization Engineer to join their busy team. With well publicised, nation-wide projects underway, the successful candidate must have extensive experience with 2G/3G (WCDMA/GSM) technologies and capacity planning.

THE ROLE:

- WCDMA/GSM Radio Network Coverage and Capacity Planning and Optimization.
- Planning, preparing and creating detailed integration designs for new site roll-outs.
- Utilising Radio Network Planning tools such as Netact, Radio Planner and Atoll.
- Validation of site configuration through site surveys and preparing reports.
- Tuning and optimisation for swap-out projects.
- Assisting the RF teams during expansions to ensure capacity, quality and coverage is maintained.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- Must have a minimum 5-7 years experience in both RF Planning and Optimization, 2G and 3G.
- Experience in a RAN environment with Nokia/NSN equipment.
- Link Budget parameters and RAN parameters knowledge.
- RF Planning tool experience such as NetAct Planner/PlanEditor, TEMS and NEMO
- Hands on experience with OSS and RAN Planning tools including NetAct OSS and CM Configuration Manager
- Experience with Mapinfo.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

This role is has a customer facing element, so the successful candidate must have very strong verbal communication and report writing skills. You will enjoy working as part of a specialised team in a highly technical environment.
