Rate: Negotiable - 55-65 Euros per hour Dependent on experience
Contract duration: 6 month initial with strong possibility of renewal
Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands

I am currently recruiting a RF IC Design Engineer for my client based in Nijmegen, Netherlands to work on RF IC designs including EM models developing package and laminate models for smart antenna products and components to be readied for release onto the market.

The models will include electrical RF properties derived with 3D EM tools and include thermal behaviour modelling. Application targets are mainly products in the 1-6 GHz frequency domain.

The RF components are mainly for wireless connectivity applications (WLAN, LTE and GPS), infrastructure applications, such as base stations, video on demand and pay TV, satellite terminals and a variety of RF components for the general market.

Products include low noise amplifiers (up to 30 GHz), variable gain amplifiers and down converters.

RF Test Engineer responsibilities:

*Design RF IC products and work in multidisciplinary project teams to bring products to mass production and design-ins at the customers
*Develop package models. These models include electrical RF properties derived with 3D EM tools and thermal behaviour, with inclusion of die and PCB interactions.
*Secure optimal specification set for the product under development against requirements
*Translate the product requirements into optimal RF topology choices
*RF IC product design and layout
*Give guidance to layout engineers to obtain optimal performance
*Run design simulations to validate product performance using design kit models in realistic topologies
*Validate the DK models by measurements and analysis
*Run manufacturing corners and Monte Carlo analysis to secure manufacturability of product designs
*Secure spec compliancy reporting ( at tape out ) with clear conclusions wrt tape out quality
*Run measurements in the lab to validate designs
*Write test reports against designs

Skills/experience:

*Significant experience with EM Modelling tools, HFSS and EMPro and Momentum
*Significant experience in RF IC Design preferably using Cadence
*Good understanding of RF Layout
*Significant experience in RF package modelling using 3D EM tools
*Experience with validation of EM Models
*Experience with modelling thermal behaviour of designs: die-package-PCB
*Affinity with RF Packaging and Production Testing
*Preferably experience with analog IC design within semiconductor field.
