RF Engineer

Leading provider of wireless telecom solutions has IMMEDIATE NEED for an UMTS RF Engineer for a 3 month or longer contract opportunity, in the north metro area of Atlanta

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform RF network design, planning and optimization activities
- Implement UMTS optimization/acceptance plan, sponsor best practices, assess and escalate system issues to RAN, Core, data design teams
- Perform link budget analysis, design criteria and traffic analysis
- Ensure data integrity of various morphology/topography databases and drive test data for model calibration
- Undertake network performance improvement (KPIs) and optimization task
- Undertake BSS/RNC/Node B parameter modifications
- Analyze and recommend equipment and antenna co-location requirements for different technologies

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math or Sciences
- 3-5 years of progressive successful development as an RF Engineer
- Strong knowledge of and the ability to solve complex issues in the areas of WCDMA/UMTS RF engineering principles (RF communications theory, design principles, network optimization, propagation modeling and prediction, etc.)
- Strong experience on in vendor capability assessment, network architecture (3GPP Air interface, standards, technology and evolution, etc.), and wireless engineering principles (cell site/tower design, attributes and specifications, and RAN design, spectrum/frequency planning, etc.).
- Fully proficient with Ericsson equipment (Cell site equipment layout, network infrastructures), Performance Management (System KPIs and metrics, etc.), and Software (Parameter definition, etc).
