REVENUE CYCLE PROJECT MANAGER ---GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO

Job Summary

This 12 month contract opportunity is for a Revenue Cycle Project Manager role for a major health care provider. The individual in this role will develop relationships with Revenue Cycle leadership and operations personnel in the regions and nationally to understand the current state of our business processes and the technologies that support those processes. The individual will need to leverage their prior experience and communication skills to build credibility and rapport. Work with National and Regional Application Support teams to understand their key concerns, perceived challenges with organizations technology infrastructure and their enhancement/retirement plans for applications.

Research and analyze the business requirements, workflows and business processes to define detailed plans to map functional needs to system functionality and define an implementation roadmap for multiple projects. Create design and configuration documents from approved requirement as well as tools such as CaliberRM. Host plans review meetings with project team members, including business partners, solution architect, project development lead and project manager. Attend review sessions in order to understand workflow requirements and potential issues, risks and/or conflicts. Conduct all quality assurance activities.

Provide input and recommendations to development lead, solution architect, release manager, and project manager to improve the quality and assurance of the solution being developed. Lead efforts in clearly establishing a functional base line for as-is state and defining the to-be state with a transition roadmap that includes the key components around business process, policy framework, process re-design, people change management and working closely with other technology team members in determining technology and product configurations. Gather requirements, documenting requirements, reviewing requirements. Oversees use case development process, including review of use-case definitions.

Consultation:
Consults with regional and national customers; activities include sponsorship of requested functionality from triage and documentation through development, testing, training and deployment of approved requests; may include field visits with user groups, work with governance bodies and survey/feedback monitoring and analysis for all systems and applications releases related to project assignments.

Work with National and Regional Executives and Business Analytics groups to understand the information requirements necessary to drive effective decision making both in terms of operationally monitoring Revenue Cycle Key Performance indicators and in terms of data used for monitoring the organizations overall performance (nationally and regionally).Working with those individuals and as a member of your team, work to develop the future state vision of our revenue cycle capabilities at a detailed level - application architectures, data flows, application features/functions, integration with business process flows, reporting metrics, management reporting needs, etc.

Gathering, Analyzing and Identifying:
Collects and researches specific client requirements for projects; identifies and documents functional requirements; gathers workflow data and basic system specifications. For a portion of our overall revenue cycle, and potentially in a specific region or group of regions, work with the regional and appropriate portfolio Business Information Officer and/or their designee, to document the current suite of systems, data flows, and technical capabilities etc.

Creation and Distribution for Review:
Creates solution requirements and distributes working drafts for review and final team approval. Working with Enterprise Architecture, Information Architecture and others, develop the road map that takes our current state to the envisioned future state in a series of technical releases that will be coupled with process and potentially organizational changes. This roadmap would incorporate business case, timing of releases, and approximate levels of effort to complete. Creates Service Level Agreement and maintains changes to SLA documents.

Providing Recommendations:
Provides recommendations around functional design and configurations. Over time, independently initiate, identify and coordinate the analysis of complex client needs in project areas such as new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research for emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment. Provides input on exit criteria used for business process re-engineering, functional and process design.

Review and Approval:
Reviews and approves use cases, business requirements, test cases, training materials, and support requirements. Lead, review and design concept work for new systems and develop/document technical designs for solution integration and implementation.

Minimum Requirements:
10+ years of related experience with skills in strategic/systems thinking, leadership, business, facilitation, conflict resolution, problem solving/analytic thinking, project management and innovation.

Large-scale IT project management experience within healthcare Revenue Cycle space.

Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Previous experience in pre-sales or consulting services engagements, RFP and/or proposal preparation, comprehensive solutions definition and interface with project/program managers/technical staff. Technical and cultural competence.

Understand a wide range health care processes and business expertise including knowledge of healthcare issues, workflows, applications, policies, and standards.

Proven ability to access and analyze customer requests; advanced level software knowledge in software tools such as Captivate, Excel, Access, etc.; critical-thinking and analysis skills; proven history of exceptional customer service; advanced level communications and organizational skills.

Prefer Requirements:
Experience in systems supporting patient billing, healthcare financial management or accounting. 7+ years of management experience in the healthcare receivables field.

Working knowledge in the systems supporting: claims, charge capture, adjudication, patient eligibility, collection, membership interaction, coordinated benefits and the EPIC suite of applications.

Prefer consultants with 4+ years of healthcare experience

MS, CS/MIS or MBA degrees.

Experience in healthcare industry regulatory requirements; business office operations; AR and financial reporting technology; wage and hour regulations; basic accounting, and financial management; and industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution management practices.
