Knowledge/Experience/Skills
POS (Point of sales) Essential that you have experience with this. Preferably over 2 years leading a project
Management experience - you will be managing a team of 5 so it is essential you have management experience you will also be 2 steps down from director level
Communication - You must be a clear communicator you will be meeting with stakeholders so need to be confident and a great communicator

DELIVERY & SERVICE
Ensure delivery of quality solutions, on-time and on-budget with effective support model to meet required SLA
Resource Management - ability to work to challenging timescales, jugging multiple work streams at one time
Pro-active approach to reducing solution defects and rework
Attention to detail - architect and deliver solutions which meet the business requirement whilst considering future supportability and overall architecture. Ensure fit-for-use and fit-for-purpose products are delivered.
Aid in the transition from development to support
Constant focus to meet and exceed SLA's, identify improvements and monitor for potential issues
Shape and enforce team standards, seek ways to further improve these and ensure their adoption across the team
Ensure all areas are thoroughly documented for support purposes
Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and manage customer expectations
MANAGERIAL
Proven track record as a resource manager
Demonstrable line management skills - professional development of individuals in the team, performance management
Recruit talent - able to interview effectively in order to assess an individual's suitability for the team (technical and cultural fit)
Encourage open and clear communication promoting working practises built around trust and team work
TECHNICAL
Solid experience on Point of Sale systems, e.g. Retail Java, BTE Store 6 and BeanStore
An understanding of the Java runtime environment and application servers, e.g. Tomcat, IIS
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
Knowledge of operational aspects of IT - RTO, RPO, DR, Business Continuity
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technology
Knowledge of Deployment Technology such as Symantic Ghost
Broad understanding of IT technical knowledge and practices
Any experience of the following applications would be advantageous:- Delarue ISA, Girovend
PROJECT RELATED
Good analytical skills with an aptitude for problem resolution
Focus on delivery - ability to work to strict deadlines with good planning, scheduling, monitoring and organisational skills
Manage by exception - communicate effectively within the project team and to all stakeholders, escalate as appropriate
Learn from experience - incorporate lessons learnt from previous projects and document lessons for future use. Ensure this practise is adopted across the team.
Ability to write both user and technical documentation
