We are currently recruiting on behalf of a major Government department for an SC Cleared Resource Manager to manage and develop staff within the technical skills group/pool to ensure optimal utilisation.

Reporting to the Head of Resourcing, and working within a sometimes challenging environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

The consolidation and setup up of the Technical Resource Pool Team within Technology Programmes.

Hub management of the technical pool resources for technology group Resourcing

Provide interface into the Portfolio Office for demand. Act as a point of contact into business partners for acquisition of new resource/Skills.

Actively monitor via the resource allocation tool the technical resource demand levels liaising with Department Heads.

Moderating resources across Technology Group, by skill and competency before going to market for increases in skills/numbers.

Work with Head of Resourcing and Vendor Manager to review priorities for resource exceptions, reduce exceptions from occurring.

The incumbent must be comfortable working with the complete range of skill sets and grades that work or service the Technology business. They will have to be able to investigate, challenge and assess the quality of the work or services being provided in a positive and proactive way.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate previous proven capability in the following areas:

Essential:

Excellent planning skills

Understanding of capacity planning and skills gap analysisRecruitment and resource selection experience

Problem solving and judgement

Understanding of resource allocation

In depth general management and budgetary management skills

In-depth knowledge of performance management process

Ability to apply performance management procedures sensitively and to make difficult but consistent decisions

Able to gain trust of individuals in group and senior managers

Strong people and interpersonal skills
