Residential Home Assistant (RHA)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and comprehend a limited number of two and three syllable words

Ability to print and speak simple sentences

Ability to walk on a regular basis

Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach w/hands and arms

Ability to frequently stand and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Ability to push up to 200lb resident in wheelchairs up slight inclines

Ability to perform the essential duties of the job as listed below

Ability to sit and talk or hear

Ability to see close up and at a distance in order to observe residents at the bus stop and in activity area

GENERAL DUTIES:

To provide assistance to the staff on the resident living areas by maintaining general cleanliness of the unit, stocking supplies, making beds, and taking residents to and from the bus stop

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains general tidiness of the resident living areas (ie activity room, kitchen, bedrooms)

Provides resident programming as determined by Unit Manager and documents any program activities/goals completed

Participates in designated programs such as socialization, leisure activities, and sensory stimulation

Prepares mealtime set-up for designated residents

Brushes teeth of designated residents after meals and snacks

Properly uses and cares for each resident's adaptive and personal equipment such as wheelchair, lap tray, splints, eating utensils, radio, TV, etc.

Interacts with each resident and coworker in a manner that shows respect for the individual and his/her value as a human being

Transports residents to and from the bus area

Assists with operating mechanical lifts

Maintains a safe, clean and healthful environment for residents and coworkers

Uses acceptable language and tone of voice

PAY RATE:

$8.10/hour; $2/hour weekend differential - must work every other weekend
