Research Technician

Job Description:
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate will assist a team of biologists in conducting experiments to characterize new insecticide chemistries. The assays will primarily take place under laboratory conditions, with the possibility of some field work. Responsibilities will include: weighing compounds, mixing solutions, applying pesticides, infesting with insects, conducting evaluations, entering data into Excel accurately, assisting with special requests testing, and general housekeeping.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
B.S. in crop protection field is highly desirable. Background in entomology, crop protection, agriculture is highly desirable. Background in whole organism biology/applied biology minimum acceptable. Candidate must be willing and able to work in laboratory, greenhouse, and agricultural field environments, and any experience in these areas is a plus. Must be willing and able to handle insects and chemicals of unknown toxicity safely.
