Research Specialist Job

RESEARCH SPECIALIST - IMAGING needed for a 1 year contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Chesterfield, MO.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Testing and development of imaging methods that can be integrated with automation platforms
- Contribute to research projects to develop image analysis algorithms from imagery of plants and seeds
- Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of imaging product components
- Working with internal customers to understand detection requirements and propose imaging/sensing solutions.
- Work in high performing teams of scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and improve measurement and analysis methods and systems
- Provide support of deployed imaging systems and software
- This role will be responsible for image processing algorithm development supporting internal field automation projects.
- Project stages include proof-of-concept experiments, prototype development, validation, refinement, and/or handoff for implementation.
- Expected knowledge will include proficiency at performing various processes utilizing image analysis, including the detection, identification, and/or classification of objects.
- We are a true R&D team, doing both research and development, moving from idea to manufacturable products deployed to internal customers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Master's Degree in Computer, Electrical, Biological, Agricultural, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Strong experience with image processing with multiple modalities is required (RGB, RGB-D, NIR, Multispectral, LiDAR). Familiarity with 3-D imaging modalities is a plus.
- Demonstrated success with statistical analysis of imagery or spectroscopic data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Some experience with image acquisition, imaging prototyping construction is desired

BONUS POINTS:

- S. with 2+ years or Ph.D
- Knowledge/familiarity with FPGA code to process video streams from imaging devices and sensors is a strong plus MATLAB image processing experience is highly preferred, GUI development is a plus
