Research Lab Specialist, Hematology

The Research Lab Specialist in the Hematology Department will form part of a multi-disciplinary team developing critical production and analytical technology for the exiting field of gene therapy. The new applicant will be responsible for developing robust analytical methods for the analysis of nucleic acids in clinical grade viral vector products, and will utilize a wide variety of analytical procedures and equipment including capillary and conventional electrophoresis, massively parallel sequencing based on the Illumina and other platforms, and computational bioinformatics. This position provides an opportunity for the leveraging of these novel analytical technologies and skills to support the development of a class of novel molecular therapeutics that are demonstrating profound clinical efficacy and promise. The successful applicant will join the St. Jude Vector Production & Development Shared Resource, and as part of that collaborative team will advance and improve the gene therapy program at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of the world leaders in this new therapeutic modality.
