RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SAN DIEGO, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Perform solubility and formulation screening studies on discovery candidates
- Develop suitable dosing formulations for in-vivo studies (oral and parenteral)
- Perform solid state characterization of discovery candidates
- Operation and troubleshooting of HPLC system
- Support the activities involved in generating amorphous formulations using spray-drying and lyophilization
- Support characterization of amorphous formulations using solid state techniques and small-scale biorelevant dissolution testing
- Maintenance of lab space, equipment and glassware for preformulation lab, especially, the enabling formulation suite

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS/MS in chemistry, Pharmaceutical sciences or related field; BS with 2-5 years and/or MS with 0-2 years of related industry experience
- Background in Pharmaceutical Science, Analytical or Organic Chemistry with working knowledge of preformulation, physicochemical properties and solid state considerations
- Working knowledge of methods and instrumentation associated with analyses of oral and parenteral dosage forms (ie DSC, TGA, Microscopy, Particle size analysis, Dissolution, HPLC, pH, Osmolality)
- Experience/know-how of formulation technologies for solubility enhancement of poorly soluble candidates for oral and parenteral delivery
